This year the Kauai Ocean Safety Bureau recorded over 1.2 million beachgoers, 56,000 preventative actions and 2,500 first aid responses. The annual ocean safety campaign and Kauai Lifeguard Association’s (KLA) 3rd WAVE fundraising event was well received by the Kauai community as the Oct. 17the concert is sold out.
The fundraiser promises to be fun for everyone and includes live and silent auctions, prizes, and music by Hawaii’s top recording artists. Proceeds from the Wave Ocean Safety Campaign will go to purchase portable PA systems and battery operated megaphones for effective communication between lifeguards and beachgoers.
