The UN Climate Summit will be taking place in New York on Sept 23, 2014. Climate change is not some distant problem. It is happening now and has real effects on people’s lives even tho’ it may not seem as clearly palpable in developed areas of the world. It is a real and present issue. Progressing at massive speeds and evolving into a highly consumerism-driven world comes at the cost of the disruption of national economies costing us dearly in the short and long run.

But let’s not lose hope, affordable, scalable solutions are available that will enable us to move to cleaner, stronger economies that progress in a manner conducive to supporting life on earth without destroying it. There are things we can do in our own communities by being stewards of the land and sea, start with not contributing to earth and water pollution.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has invited world leaders to Climate Summit 2014 on September 23rd to bring about climate action. He has asked these leaders to bring bold announcements and initiatives to the Summit “that will reduce emissions, strengthen climate resilience, and mobilize political will for a meaningful legal agreement in 2015.” #climate2014
