According to a NY Post article your Harry Potter books might be worth a lot now…they just might make you rich.
AbeBooks, an online marketplace that specializes in rare and out-of-print books, has found that early editions of the Harry Potter series continues to command high prices, bringing in as much as $55,000 for a UK first-edition of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”
Other Potter books are worth a lot too: “An early copy of “Chamber of Secrets” can earn up to $9,000, while a “Prisoner of Azkaban” book with author J.K. Rowling’s name spelled wrong can be worth $12,000. If your book is signed by Rowling, that will up the price, too — signed copies of “Goblet of Fire” have sold for $11,000.”
NY Post said that AbeBooks credits the books’ enduring appeal to Rowling’s continuing output, as well as the popularity of the Potter films and their stars. Do you have a Harry Potter book gathering dust on your bookshelf?
