Audrey Hepburn always remembered the aid she received from UNICEF as an adolescent in post-World War II Holland. In 1988, she became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and traveled to more than 20 countries. She reported what she saw to world leaders, governments, and the international media, lending her voice to save children’s lives. By the time she died in 1993, Audrey had instilled in hearts and minds all over the world a passion for UNICEF’s vital work.
